A Quick Shoutout

Hey y’all,

So this post is gonna be short and sweet because I need to update this bad boy, even if it’s just small silly posts.

Anyways, shoutout to resturant chips and salsa. All tortilla chips are made with the same basic ingredients, and no two salads are the same but, like the chips, have similar base ingredients. Authentic Mexican restaurant chips and salsa, however, have a different quality that makes them taste significantly better than anything store bought. The only acceptable drink to pair with it is a Coke, either in a can or glass bottle.

Okay that’s the post, y’all have a good one 🙂

Updates!

Hello everyone! So a lot has happened since my last post. I got sick and rediscovered the magic of tomato soup and grilled cheese, I got a job at the worlds cutest grocery store, I turned 19 and I started my second semester of college!!

Being sick was awful. It’s never great but it happens and I’m happy I got it over with. There wasn’t a lot of variety that week, cough drops, a nice couple of boxes of tomato soup, and my body weight in grilled cheeses kept me going. Near the end of the great flu of 2019, I got a call from the cutest little grocery store in Boulder. I got hired as a cashier!!

I was so excited to start, thinking I could really show off my food knowledge but if anything this job reeeaaallly humbled me. I don’t know what a rutabaga is or the PLU number for it, but I can tell the difference between a Serrano and a Jalapeno if that gets me any credit. All in all I really do love working here!

I’m excited to see what else and I hope I can report back often!!

A New Years Resolution

To those that stumble across this blog, Hello! To those who know me and want to see what this ‘New Years Resolution’ is all about, here it is! Recently I’ve been thinking about food and the role it plays in my life, and although it’s fair to say LOTS of people enjoy food, I feel like there is a disconnect somewhere. My goal of 2019 (and hopefully longer) is to learn more about food, where it comes from, the history, the different preparations, the importance of certain ingredients and it’s overall significance. I figured a blog would be a cool place to organize it.

A little about myself, I’m almost 19, right in the sweet spot of not knowing where to go with life but having fun at the same time, I’m from Colorado and going to the University of Colorado in beautiful Boulder. My parents may not be 5-star chefs, but some of the best food I’ve ever had was made by them. They also have taught me almost everything I know about cooking. Even though I don’t have any aspirations to go pro, it’s something that I think is worth getting better at.

Anyways, here goes nothing!
